KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC), initially scheduled for Wednesday, has been rescheduled to Sunday at 2 PM. The postponement was made to allow additional time for discussions to reach a consensus on the organizational proposal by General Secretary Gagan Thapa and the contemporary political proposal by General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma.

On Tuesday, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba convened a meeting with the vice-president and general secretaries at his Budhanilkantha residence to work towards an agreement on these proposals. The CWC meeting, which has been ongoing since August 7, has yet to address the reports from the general secretaries. These reports, which were presented during the Mahasamiti meeting, will require endorsement following the ongoing discussions.
