NEPSE Index surges 56.09 points, closing at 2,653.58

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) observed an important surge on the first trading day of the week. By the time it closed at 2,653.58, the NEPSE index had risen by 56.09 points, or 2.15%. As a result of this upward trend, the Float Index increased by 2.22% and the Sensitive Index increased by 2.08%. 


15,046,710 shares were exchanged in 69,860 transactions during a hectic trading session, generating a total turnover of Rs 6.13 billion. During the day, 308 businesses' shares were exchanged, demonstrating a high volume of market activity. 


The share value of Nyadi Hydropower Limited (NYADI) increased by an astounding 10%, making it stand out. The market was dominated by Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS), which led in turnover (Rs 638.35 million), trading volume (1,460,936 shares), and number of transactions (4,272). 


The majority of the exchange's stock movement was favorable overall, with 219 businesses seeing a rise in their stock values. The two firms' stock prices stayed constant during the trading day, while the stock prices of 23 other companies suffered a fall. 


With a rise of 6.30%, the Finance Index had the best overall performance in the industry. Gains were also seen in other industries, such as manufacturing and processing, which witnessed a 3.12% boost. The Development Bank Index rose by 2.22%, the Hydropower Index gained 2.73%, and the Banking SubIndex gained 2.20%.


There were encouraging advancements in other industries in addition to these noteworthy ones. The hotel and tourism sectors grew by 1.71%, while non-life and life insurance had increases of 1.49% and 1.34%, respectively. Despite expanding less than the other index, the Trading Index increased by 0.90%, adding to the market's general bullish mood.
