NEPSE Index surges by 31.48 points in first trading session after Dashain festival

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw its first trading session following the Dashain celebration today, with the NEPSE index closing at 2,699.66 points. A notable increase of 31.48 points, or 1.17%, from the previous trading day's closing has occurred.


The market had recorded a slight increase of 4.85 points before the festival break. The index opened the trading session at 2,668.08, dropped as low as 2,667.82 during the day, and then rose as high as 2,700.23.


A total of 35,648 transactions involving 307 stocks were made during the session. Strong trading activity was demonstrated by the 6,417,267 shares that were exchanged and the Rs. 3.06 billion in total turnover that followed.


The float market capitalization was Rs. 1.51 trillion at the end of the session, whereas the market capitalization was Rs. 4.29 trillion. Given that investors started trading again after the event, this indicates a robust market climate.
