Indian-registered bus plunges into Marsyangdi River update: Rescue operations underway

KATHMANDU: Rescue operations have commenced after an Indian-registered passenger bus fell into the Marsyangdi River at Aaina Pahara, Anbu Khaireni-2, in Tanahun district. A team consisting of Nepal Army personnel, 45 APF members including 10 divers led by Senior Superintendent of Police Madhav Paudel, and 35 additional APF personnel from the No. 23 Battalion in Bhanu, Tanahun, is actively working at the site.


Preliminary reports indicate that around 10 to 11 bodies have been recovered from the river. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with support from locals, police, and APF personnel. A video of the ongoing rescue operations has been shared, highlighting the collective efforts of the responders.
