KATHMANDU: Two kids sadly died in separate landslide occurrences in Kaski that were caused by persistent rain. The occurrences recently took place under unfavorable weather circumstances, according to District Police Office Kaski spokesman Basant Kumar Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
One incident claimed the life of thirteen-year-old Ayusma Ranabhat, who was buried in a landslide in Chitepani Ghumti of Madi Rural Municipality-5. Ayusma's 70-year-old grandmother, Lalmaya Banjara, was fortunate to be rescued by police from the same landslide that struck their home. They were the only occupants at the time of the disaster.
In another heartbreaking incident in Arupata of Pokhara Metropolitan City-27, three-year-old Anmol, son of Hari Sunar, died when their two-room mud house collapsed due to a landslide. Anmol's mother, Ritu, aged 27, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at Gandaki Medical College. Fortunately, Hari and his nine-year-old daughter, Anjali, escaped the collapse unharmed.
