KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML and Nepali Congress have agreed on the nomination of ambassadors subsequent to the formation of a new administration headed by Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Oli. The agreement states that appointments for ambassadors to the US, China, UK, and Russia shall be handled by the UML.
Conversely, the Nepali Congress will recommend ambassadors for India, Japan, Australia, and Malaysia. Additionally, the coalition partners have agreed to fill ambassadorial positions in other countries where vacancies exist. Sources suggest that the Nepali Congress will recommend one more ambassador than the UML.
