KATHMANDU: Today, the Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to hold a hearing regarding the writ petition filed against Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. The petition, submitted by Advocate Anupama Bhattarai, requests the suspension of Home Minister Lamichhane to pause the ongoing investigation into alleged misappropriation within cooperatives.
Previously, a bench comprising Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Til Prasad Shrestha had instructed the summoning of the charge sheet filed in the Rupandehi District Court concerning the petition seeking Lamichhane's investigation suspension. During the arguments, the petitioners emphasized Lamichhane's inclusion in the charge sheet filed in the Rupandehi District Court, alongside details of loans attributed to him.
In their ruling, Justices Sharma and Shrestha clarified their commitment to prioritizing the case in accordance with the earlier directive, thereby eliminating any ambiguity surrounding the cooperative fraud dispute involving GB Rai.
