KATHMANDU: Manish Jha, a legislator from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), asked leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML to build mutual trust during a special session of the House of Representatives on Monday. Jha attacked their demands, saying that they showed a lack of faith in the constitution they had crafted and the legislative system, by calling for the resignation of the prime minister.

Jha pointed out that despite the Prime Minister having sufficient time to seek a vote of confidence, the NC and UML seemed apprehensive, even with the scheduled vote set for July 12. He emphasized that there were still four days remaining and urged them not to panic over potential instability.

"Why is there such distrust in the parliamentary system and the constitution that you yourselves have put in place? Are you genuinely afraid that instability will arise in these four days? You have the numbers and the potential majority. Just wait for four days. Trust each other," Jha remarked, highlighting the importance of practicing what they preach about cooperation and partnership.

Jha also criticized the NC and UML for allegedly forging their new alliance in a meeting held at a businessman's residence rather than conducting it transparently within their party offices or in the parliament itself.
