KATHMANDU: Following Ghanendra Basnet's withdrawal from the race, Rajendra Pandey was elected without opposition to the position of senior vice-chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist). Despite a provision for eighteen roles, the CPN (Unified Socialist) now has three office-bearers: the Chairman, Honorable Leader, and General Secretary.
To fill 17 more positions, including vice president, deputy general secretary, secretary, treasurer, and politburo members, an election is set for this afternoon at 2:00 PM. These members of the Politburo and office-bearers will be chosen by the 344-member Central Committee (CC). During the 10th National Convention of the party, which took place between June 30 and July 4, Madhav Kumar Nepal was unanimously chosen as the Chairman, Jhala Nath Khanal as the Honorable Leader, and Ghanshyam Bhusal as the General Secretary.
