KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized the importance of establishing and expanding industries that boost production with minimal capital during his speech at the Start-Up Nation 2030 program on Wednesday. He highlighted that such initiatives could create employment and income opportunities for youth and women within the country, reducing the need for overseas work.
PM Oli urged the expansion of youth entrepreneurship to replace imports with domestic production, aiming to lower poverty, enhance self-reliance, and achieve sustainable development goals. He also called on banks to provide loans based on project viability rather than asset holdings and reassured continued support for cooperatives despite some criticism.
In his address, PM Oli stressed the need for entrepreneurship driven by technology, skills, and capital, to showcase the benefits of production across the country. He affirmed the government's commitment to supporting the private sector and expressed his personal dedication to advancing the nation’s prosperity, despite not initially seeking the role of Prime Minister.
