KATHMANDU: The ministerial responsibilities in Lumbini Province have been assigned to eight out of nine ministers without portfolio who were appointed on July 9, 2024. Chief Minister Chetan Narayan Acharya had appointed these ministers, including five from CPN-UML and four from the Nepali Congress, to manage various portfolios.
Dhanendra Karki from Gulmi has been assigned the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Saroj Thapa from Pyuthan will handle the Ministry of Urban Development and Drinking Water, and Badshah Kurmi from Banke is responsible for the Ministry of Forest and Environment. Prachanda Bikram Nyaupane from Dang has been given the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Transport.
From the CPN-UML, Bhumiswar Dhakal from Rupandehi is tasked with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Dinesh Panthe from Gulmi will oversee the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management, Khem Saru from Palpa has the Ministry of Health, and Sita Sharma Chaudhary from Dang is responsible for the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation.
Chief Minister Acharya will continue to manage the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, and the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens until the NC appoints a minister for the remaining allocated ministry.
