KATHMANDU: Five parliamentary committees will convene today, and there will be sessions for the National Assembly and the House of Representatives. The agendas for these meetings have been provided by the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
To discuss a measure pertaining to legislative arrangements, the House of Representatives' Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee will meet at 11 a.m. There will be a concurrent meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee at 11 AM to discuss a proposed amendment to the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS.
The State Committee will convene at 1:30 PM to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the mandatory principles, policies, and obligations. In this session, the main subjects of discussion will include the state's functioning as well as its guiding concepts and policies.
The Committee on Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance of the National Assembly will convene at 11:30 a.m. Discussions with interested parties regarding the importance of sound governance in bolstering democracy and the possible introduction of a "national morality policy" are on the agenda. In parallel, the post-legislative examination will be discussed during the 11:30 AM meeting of the Committee for Legislation Management.
