KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML claims that the present administration, led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has not encountered any difficulties in pursuing corruption investigations. Following a secretariat meeting on Wednesday, the party's deputy general secretary, Pradip Gyawali, chastised Prime Minister Dahal and Home Minister Lamichhane for what he saw as superfluous theatrics.

Gyawali emphasized that there were no hurdles to Prachanda conducting investigations throughout his 19-month stint as prime minister. He especially highlighted Rabi Lamichhane, who has served as Home Minister twice, and stated that there were no hurdles to taking action or launching investigations.

"We have been expecting proactive measures from the government in this regard," Gyawali emphasized. Previously a significant coalition partner, the CPN-UML recently withdrew its support from the Dahal-led government and allied with the Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, in an effort to topple the administration.
