KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been asked to resign immediately by the CPN-UML, claiming that he no longer has the support of the majority in parliament. Following his attendance at a parliamentary party meeting at the New Baneshwor parliament building, Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula declared that it is unfair for PM Dahal to hold onto office in the absence of a majority.
The meeting expressed support for the Nepali Congress's efforts to form a new government. Chief Whip Bartaula emphasized that the current government, lacking a majority, should refrain from making any decisions and must avoid actions contrary to the constitution and national interests.
In light of PM Dahal’s plan to seek a vote of confidence, the UML has decided to vote against him.
