KATHMANDU: Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula of the CPN-UML accused Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' of attempting to destabilize Nepal during today's House of Representatives (HoR) meeting. Bartaula alleged that despite being in the minority, the Prime Minister's actions from Baluwatar aimed to prolong the government's tenure and obstruct the formation of a new government.
Bartaula asserted that Prime Minister Dahal's insistence on continuing the current government has escalated tensions and posed a threat to Nepal's stability. He highlighted the CPN-UML's decision to collaborate with the Nepali Congress after withdrawing from the government due to feeling marginalized.
Bartaula emphasized their commitment to following constitutional procedures, citing Article 76, Clause 2 of the Constitution, which he contended did not prevent the formation of a new administration. He asked Prime Minister Dahal to retire immediately to provide a seamless transition, underlining the importance of the situation and opposing any more delays.
