Trump injured in ear during assassination attempt at Pennsylvania rally

KATHMANDU: Donald Trump reported being shot in the ear during a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, describing the experience as hearing a "whizzing sound" and feeling a "bullet ripping through skin". The attacker was later shot and killed by a Secret Service agent. According to the Secret Service, one rally attendee lost their life and two others suffered serious injuries.


An eyewitness at the rally told BBC that they observed a man with a rifle crawling on a nearby roof just before shots were fired. The front-runner Republican presidential candidate, Trump, was seen on camera falling to the ground, getting back up, and displaying blood on the side of his face.


According to a White House official, US President Joe Biden talked with US President Trump, his opponent in the approaching November election, after the incident. The details of their conversation were not disclosed by the official.


Allegheny General Hospital said that two Trump rally attendees in Butler County, Pennsylvania, are in critical condition. The hospital did not reveal any information regarding their injuries or names.
