KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has affirmed its stance on pressing for the formation of a parliamentary committee to probe Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane's alleged involvement in a cooperative fraud case. Following a parliamentary party meeting on Friday morning, Ramesh Lekhak, the party's chief whip, asserted that there exists significant evidence implicating Lamichhane in the fraud, warranting a thorough investigation.
Furthermore, the NC has leveled accusations against the government, alleging its complicity in shielding individuals implicated in the fraudulent activities. This stance underscores the party's commitment to upholding accountability and transparency within the government's ranks.
In addition to its scrutiny of the government's handling of the fraud case, the NC has voiced criticism against Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire for his conduct during Thursday's parliamentary proceedings. The party has raised concerns about the Speaker's impartiality, suggesting that his actions may be influenced by partisan interests, thereby undermining the integrity of the parliamentary process.
