KATHMANDU: People in Dang blocked the road in protest after a tipper's motorcycle crashed with the biker's, taking his life. Around 8:00 PM on Saturday, there was an accident on the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road portion. Riding his motorcycle (Ba 85 P 5605), 39-year-old Kul Bahadur Basnet of Ghorahi-15 collided with a tipper (Lu 2 B 5085) traveling from Ghorahi to Tulsipur.
Basnet suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Rapti Health Science Institute in Ghorahi, where he later died. DSP Ramprasad Timalsina of the District Police Office Dang confirmed the details and reported that the tipper driver, Shiva Bahadur Chhetri from Nawalparasi Sunwal-10, has been arrested.
In response to the incident, Basnet’s relatives and local residents have blocked the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road, demanding justice, including legal action against the responsible party and compensation for the victim’s family.
