KATHMANDU: Three people lost their lives and ten others were injured when a bus collided with a parked truck in Sarlahi. Inspector Anil Giri of the Hariwan area police office reported that the accident took place at 6 am today (Thursday) at Bagmati Municipality-1 Rayamazhi Chowk on the East-West Highway.
The bus (Lu 1 Ka 8848), en route from Bhairawa to Janakpur, crashed into an Indian cargo truck (NL 011AS 9252) that was parked by the roadside. The victims, identified by Inspector Giri, include Hari Bahadur Chaudhary from Rupandehi, 85-year-old Dashrath Kuwar from Rupandehi, and 50-year-old Ramkaran Kewat from Mayadevi Rural Municipality-2 of Rupandehi.
The bus, which had approximately 41 passengers on board, left ten people injured, with five in critical condition. These critically injured passengers have been transferred to Birgunj for further medical treatment, while the remaining injured are being treated at local hospitals.
