Snakebite claims life of woman in Nawalparasi West

KATHMANDU: On Sunday, a 32-year-old woman named Runa Pal from Gangapur in ward 9 of Pratappur Municipality, Nawalparasi West, succumbed to a snakebite. The incident occurred while she was asleep, and family members discovered her unconscious. Initially taken to the snakebite treatment center operated by the Nepali Army, she was later transferred to the District Hospital after the initial treatment was unsuccessful.


Despite efforts at medical intervention, Runa Pal passed away during the course of treatment. The district has witnessed a rise in snakebite cases coinciding with the onset of the monsoon season.
