KATHMANDU: During a meeting with representatives of the people, political leaders, and locals, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' assured support for the development of Sarangkot, located in Pokhara metropolis-18. He reiterated the government's dedication to assisting in tourism, drinking water, and infrastructure enhancement in Sarangkot, which holds significant potential for tourism.
Local resident Purnakhar Timilsina conveyed the community's request to the Prime Minister for the implementation of the Yamdi-Sarangkot Lifting Drinking Water Project to address the area's water scarcity issue. Additionally, calls were made for road improvements, landslide control measures, and the development of Sarangkot as a prominent tourism hub, including the construction of a Tourism Park and enhancements to existing parks.
Timilsina highlighted the diverse range of demands presented to the Prime Minister, addressing various challenges faced by their ward. He expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's assurance that the government would actively work towards fulfilling the needs of the local populace.
Sarangkot stands as a favored destination for both domestic and international tourists, renowned for its picturesque views of glaciers and the Pokhara Market, particularly during sunrise and sunset. Prime Minister Dahal's visit to Pokhara coincided with his attendance at a province-level cadres' training program, organized by the CPN (Maoist Centre) Gandaki province committee at the Pokhara City Hall.
