KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana has denied allegations that she requested visas from the US Embassy in Kathmandu. In a press statement released on Friday, Rana clarified that her correspondence with the Embassy only involved requesting the scheduling of visa interviews for participants of the NGO CSW67 Forum held in March 2023, not for issuing visas.
The controversy arose after her letter to the US Embassy became public, leading to criticism. Rana emphasized that she did not ask for visas but merely sought to arrange interview appointments.
