5 injured in Kathmandu after man sets fire to family, being treated in Kirtipur Burn Hospital

Five individuals who sustained injuries after being set on fire by an individual who sprinkled petrol on them in Saraswati Nagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7 are currently receiving medical treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital. According to SP Nabraj Adhikari, the spokesperson at District Police Range Kathmandu, the perpetrator, identified as 55-year-old Chanchal Bahadur Singh, ignited a room of his house by pouring petrol last night while reported to be under the influence of alcohol.

The injured include Singh himself, aged 55, his wife Bindu Singh, aged 44, his daughters Supriya Singh, aged 24, Samriddhi Singh, aged 16, and Suhani Singh, aged eight. The incident occurred following a dispute between Singh and his wife, prompting him to resort to the drastic act. All injured parties are currently undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter to gather further details and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
