President Paudel emphasizes role of auditors in economic security at National Conference

KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel emphasized the crucial role of auditors in ensuring transparency and good governance, stating that they serve as the nation's economic watchdog. Speaking at the National Conference organized by the Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN), President Paudel highlighted the significance of auditors in maintaining economic security by diligently scrutinizing financial accounts. He underscored the importance of auditors remaining vigilant and carrying out their duties with integrity, emphasizing that their actions contribute to economic transparency.

President Paudel noted that the vigilance of auditors has been instrumental in upholding transparency in the country's economic activities. He emphasized the need for skilled and knowledgeable professionals in chartered accountancy to ensure transparency and accountability in governmental agencies. Highlighting the importance of transparent expenditure and accounting systems in attracting international assistance and fostering a credible environment for economic development, President Paudel asserted that auditing plays a crucial role in preventing fraud and revenue evasion in large-scale development projects.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Jwala Kumari Sah, commended the role of auditors in controlling fake bills and revenue evasion, particularly in development and construction projects. She emphasized the importance of error-free auditing in ensuring financial integrity and contributing to the country's financial governance. Minister Sah praised ACAN for its contributions to financial governance through auditing and called on the new generation of Chartered Accountants to raise public awareness about the significance of accounting in economic development.

President of ACAN, Deepak Pandey, expressed optimism that the conference would facilitate discussions on Nepal's economic challenges and potential solutions. He highlighted sessions focused on identifying economic problems and proposing policy reforms and development strategies. Notable figures such as ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, and President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, were honored at the event. The conference aims to engage economists, industrialists, bankers, and policymakers in discussions aimed at promoting the country's prosperity and economic development.
