KATHMANDU: Vote counting for the by-election in Ilam-2 is currently in progress, with CPN-UML candidate Suhang Nemwang maintaining a significant lead. According to the latest updates, Nemwang has amassed 11,619 votes, firmly establishing himself as the frontrunner in the race.
Trailing behind Nemwang is Dambar Khadka, the Nepali Congress candidate, who has garnered 7,659 votes. This places Khadka at a considerable distance from Nemwang, with a gap of 3,960 votes separating the two candidates.
In the third position is Dakendra Thegim, an independent candidate advocating for identity-based issues, who has accumulated 7,452 votes thus far.
Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Milan Limbu holds the fourth position with 1,596 votes recorded up to this point in the vote counting process.
