KATHMANDU: The Japanese Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that Yoko Kamikawa, Japan's Foreign Minister, is scheduled to visit Nepal next week. Minister Kamikawa's visit is part of a broader diplomatic tour that includes stops in Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, France, Sri Lanka, and Nepal from April 26 to May 6. The purpose of her trip, as stated by the Ministry, is to engage in diplomatic efforts aimed at bridging relations between the Global South and like-minded countries, including members of the Group of Seven nations.
Minister Kamikawa expressed her intentions to serve as a diplomatic bridge between the Global South and nations that share similar perspectives, including G7 countries, during a press conference. The visit underscores Japan's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering cooperation with Nepal and other countries on her itinerary.
