KATHMANDU: A devastating fire broke out at a wedding house located in Balara municipality-6, Mirzapur of Sarlahi district, inflicting damages amounting to an estimated Rs 600,000. The property, owned by Ram Chandra Mahato, a resident of Mirzapur, was engulfed in flames last night, as confirmed by District Police Spokesperson Deepak Shrestha.

The fire consumed wedding materials worth Rs 600,000, contributing to significant losses. Initial reports suggest that a short circuit was the likely cause of the blaze. Amidst the chaos, two individuals sustained burn injuries while attempting to salvage wedding goods and materials from the engulfed house.

Efforts to mitigate the fire's impact resulted in injuries to these individuals, who are currently undergoing treatment at a local health facility. The incident underscores the urgency of fire safety measures and highlights the unfortunate consequences of such accidents on individuals and property.
