KATHMANDU: Due to escalating tensions in West Asia, the United States and the United Kingdom have issued urgent advisories for their citizens to leave Lebanon. The US embassy has advised American nationals to depart immediately using any available flights, despite some cancellations. They have stressed the importance of booking any accessible tickets, even if flights are delayed or do not follow preferred routes.

Similarly, the UK government has urged British citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible, citing high tensions and the potential for rapid deterioration of the situation. Foreign Minister David Lammy emphasized the need for British nationals to take action promptly and highlighted efforts to increase consular support in the region.

Sweden has also taken precautionary measures by closing its embassy in Beirut amid concerns that the ongoing Gaza conflict could spill over into Lebanon. The situation in the region has been further inflamed by recent killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, leading to increased regional tensions and heightened security measures.

In addition to the US and UK, India, Australia, and Canada have also advised their nationals to leave Lebanon. The Indian embassy has recommended avoiding non-essential travel and has urged Indian citizens to stay in touch with the embassy for updates and assistance.
