5 members of Nepali family killed in Bangalore gas leakage incident

A tragic incident unfolded in the city of Bangalore, India, as five members of a single family lost their lives due to a cooking gas leakage. The incident occurred on May 29 in Yelankha, resulting in severe burn injuries for Madan Bohara, aged 32, his 30-year-old wife Premjala, and their three children.

Despite efforts to treat their injuries, the family faced a devastating outcome. The four-year-old son and eight-year-old daughter passed away during treatment at Victoria Hospital on May 30 and May 31, respectively. Premjala, who suffered extensive burns covering 72 percent of her body, tragically succumbed to her injuries on Saturday evening.

The sorrow deepened as Madan Bohara and his eldest daughter, aged 11, also lost their lives due to their injuries at the same hospital. According to reports, the incident was caused by a gas leak within an enclosed room, as stated by the victims themselves.

Madan Bohara had relocated to India with his family six years ago in pursuit of a better quality of life. He worked as a security guard at an apartment complex, while his wife was employed as domestic help. The untimely demise of this family has left a profound impact, highlighting the dangers associated with gas leaks and the tragic consequences they can entail.
