NEPSE sees modest gains of 6.70 points, daily turnover was Rs 20 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest increase of 6.70 points, or 0.24%, closing at 2,766.38 points at the end of today's trading session. The sensitive index, which tracks class 'A' stocks, rose by 0.04%, while the float index, measuring actively traded shares, gained 0.18%. Out of the 12 sectors, seven recorded losses, and five saw gains, with the manufacturing and processing sector leading with a notable gain of 5.87%.


In terms of individual stock performance, 79 companies saw their shares advance, while 160 experienced declines and three remained unchanged. Notably, six companies, KRBL, SHIVM, GCIL, MSHL, SONA, and SARBTM, achieved a 10% increase in their share values.


The daily turnover reached Rs 20 billion, with 50,946,832 units of shares traded across 322 companies in 209,965 transactions. The intraday turnover on Wednesday exceeded Rs 17 billion. The total market capitalization today was recorded at Rs 4.391 trillion.
