KATHMANDU: Today, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its upward trajectory, closing with a gain of 23.25 points at 2,175.40. The market saw increases across most sectors, except for development banks. Notably, the insurance, microfinance, hotel, and manufacturing sectors recorded significant gains. Shares of Balefi Hydropower Company surged by 10 percent, while three other companies also saw increases of more than 8 percent.
The share price of Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company dropped by 10% in spite of the general upbeat mood in the market. With the exchange of 15.2 million shares, 322 businesses engaged in trading, generating a total turnover of Rs 5.74 billion. With shares valued at Rs 150 million traded, Hathaway Investment Nepal topped the trading volume chart.
Overall, today's trading session on the NEPSE highlighted robust activity with notable sectoral gains, although some specific stocks saw fluctuations in their prices amid the market's overall upward movement.
