KATHMANDU: In Achham, a tragic incident involving lightning claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy and also led to the death of a buffalo.
The victim, identified as Gaurav Bhandari, the 6-year-old son of Kamal Bhandari from Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-7, was struck by lightning during a storm last night and tragically passed away on the spot, as confirmed by the District Police Office Achham.
The incident occurred while Gaurav was inside his house, highlighting the unpredictability and danger posed by lightning strikes even within sheltered spaces. Additionally, a buffalo owned by Ram Bhandari from the same rural municipality also succumbed to the same fate due to the lightning strike, compounding the tragedy for the community.
