KATHMANDU: Gyanmani Nepal, a prominent figure in the exploration and analysis of Nepali historical literature, passed away at the age of 91 on Tuesday. According to information from a family member, Nepal had been hospitalized at Tribhuvan Teaching Hospital for ten days prior to his demise, where he ultimately succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Renowned as a disciple of Nayaraj Pant, a distinguished Nepali scholar, Nepal is celebrated for his significant contributions to Nepali literature, particularly for his acclaimed work, 'Mahabharata of Nepal'. Among his notable literary achievements are titles such as 'Nepal Nirukta', 'Yatra Trayi', 'Nepalnirupan', and 'Nepal- Bhotchin sambandhaka kehi sanskritik pakshya'.
Nepal leaves behind a legacy survived by his two sons, having left an indelible mark on the Nepali literary landscape with his profound insights and scholarly contributions.
