KATHMANDU: Activist Dr. Nicholas Bhusal was arrested on Sunday evening for chanting slogans in support of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who has been convicted in a rape case, on the premises of the Supreme Court (SC). Superintendent of Police (SP) Nabaraj Adhikari, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, confirmed Bhusal's arrest. Bhusal was detained by the police for calling for the immediate resolution of Sandeep Lamichhane's case by chanting slogans at the SC premises.
According to SP Adhikari, Bhusal is currently in police custody following his arrest for advocating on behalf of Sandeep Lamichhane and demanding swift action in his case.
